Another project from UX Academy’s Foundations course, this time the brief described a new eCommerce site looking for top-to-bottom UX Design, from the brand’s logo to the final mobile screens.
Everything you see here was created by me: Logo, color palette, choice of typography, icons mobile designs - the only thing I can’t take credit for is the photography. I took my inspiration from the very name Modura - which evokes a retro sensibility - and found some of my design guidance from mid-century poster design. I wanted to take all the classic elements of business fashion and bring them into 2021 - what’s old becomes new, what’s untraditional becomes traditional, and what’s unprofessional becomes professional. I took a bit of a risk with a bold serif header font in Abril Fatface, but when paired with Josefin Sans, high-impact photography and a muted, mid-century modern color palette, this site unfolds into an iconic and even elegant interface, sure to entice any Zillenial looking for post-COVID fashion.
Modura is a clothing brand designed for young urbanites between 18 and 25. Users are early in their careers and are looking for an affordable solution for business casual clothing. They are fashion-forward, trend-conscious, and want to dress for the jobs they want without appearing overdressed.
